Provide design and drafting support in the creation of design development drawings or construction documents, and specifications for engineering and/or architectural design projects as assigned. This will include engineering or architectural detailing. Will use Revit and/or AutoCAD software to produce design documents.
Confer with in-house engineers, architects, and or department representatives to determine design requirements and criteria for addressing specific design projects as assigned.
Assist in-house engineers or architects in collecting project information, including as-built dimensions, site photos, building equipment information, and all other project data in order to create accurate drawings of existing conditions for specific projects as assigned.
Assist in-house engineers or architects in creating or updating cost estimates for design projects as assigned. May also assist in creating design and construction schedules.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in area of specialty or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Licensure or eligibility for licensure may be required
Preferred Qualifications
2 years of engineering or architectural design and drafting experience as it relates to building construction, strongly preferred.
Revit and/or AutoCAD drafting and design experience or other related software experience, in creating engineering or architectural bid documents, strongly preferred.
Ability to obtain an Engineer or Architect license in the State of Missouri, in the future is desirable.
PMP, CDT or other related certifications are desirable.

Assist departments in evaluation of needs, identification of priorities, and development of construction documents required for project implementation.
Work with other staff to identify and execute the best strategy for bidding and delivering construction, with the best total value to the University in mind.
Create engineered design drawings using Revit and/or AutoCAD or equivalent software.
Select and size equipment and components to be utilized in the design of the project.
Work with stakeholders including Facilities Operations to review project designs and identify the best engineering solutions for both the end-user and maintenance operations.
